ClearSilk® by Sciton is a gentle 1064 nm Nd:YAG non-ablative laser treatment designed to improve diffuse redness, uneven texture, dullness and overall skin quality with minimal to no downtime.

Unlike ablative resurfacing treatments, ClearSilk® does not remove the surface of the skin. The laser delivers controlled heat beneath the skin while the handpiece remains non-contact.

At Pearl Skin Polyclinic in Dubai, ClearSilk® can be used as an individual treatment or incorporated into personalised protocols alongside BBL HEROic™, ClearV® and other technologies when clinically appropriate.

What Is ClearSilk®?

ClearSilk® is a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser treatment by Sciton.

It is non-ablative, meaning that it works without intentionally removing the epidermal surface.

It is also non-contact: the handpiece is positioned above the skin rather than being used to mechanically penetrate or resurface it.

During treatment, laser energy produces controlled heating beneath the surface of the skin.

Sciton describes this thermal effect as stimulating fibroblast activity and the body's natural repair response, contributing to gradual improvement in texture, fine lines and overall skin appearance.

ClearSilk® for Redness & Rosacea

This is one of the areas where ClearSilk® is particularly useful.

Persistent redness can make otherwise healthy skin appear irritated, uneven or inflamed.

ClearSilk® can be used for concerns including: Diffuse Redness • Flushing • Blushing • Selected Rosacea-Related Redness

However, redness itself is not a diagnosis.

Rosacea can involve inflammatory, vascular and other components.

If clearly visible or deeper vessels are the primary concern, a more targeted vascular technology such as ClearV® may be more appropriate.

ClearSilk® for Dull Skin & Skin Quality

Not every patient asking for “glow” needs exfoliation or an aggressive resurfacing procedure.

Dull-looking skin can be associated with several factors, including uneven texture, redness, dehydration, photodamage and age-related changes.

ClearSilk® provides a non-ablative option for patients who want gradual skin revitalisation without significant surface injury.

The treatment is often referred to as a “lunchtime” procedure because it can generally be completed quickly and does not require the recovery associated with ablative resurfacing.

ClearSilk® for Acne-Prone Skin

ClearSilk® may also be incorporated into selected acne protocols.

But acne is a chronic inflammatory condition, and no laser should automatically replace proper acne diagnosis and medical management.

ClearSilk® for Fine Lines & Texture

ClearSilk® does not provide the same degree of tissue remodelling as fractional RF microneedling or ablative resurfacing.

ClearSilk® vs ClearV®

ClearSilk® and ClearV® both use 1064 nm Nd:YAG technology, but they are designed for different treatment strategies.

ClearSilk® uses non-contact controlled heating and may be selected for diffuse redness, skin quality and gradual revitalisation.

ClearV® is designed for targeted treatment of selected visible and subsurface vessels and incorporates Subsurface Vein Illumination (SVI™).

A patient with widespread facial redness may therefore require a different approach from someone with one defined blue or purple vessel.

Diffuse redness → ClearSilk® may be considered.

Defined vascular target → ClearV® may be more appropriate.

ClearSilk® vs BBL HEROic™

ClearSilk® and BBL HEROic™ are both non-ablative technologies, but they use different forms of energy.

ClearSilk® uses a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser to produce controlled thermal effects beneath the skin.

BBL HEROic™ uses filtered BroadBand Light™ to target selected chromophores such as melanin and haemoglobin.

BBL HEROic™ may therefore be particularly useful when superficial pigmentation, sun spots or selected vascular targets are present.

ClearSilk® may be selected when diffuse redness and gradual skin revitalisation are the main goals.

Some patients may benefit from both technologies within a staged treatment programme.

ClearSilk® vs Morpheus8

ClearSilk® and Morpheus8 address skin quality through very different mechanisms.

ClearSilk® is a non-contact, non-ablative 1064 nm laser treatment designed for gradual thermal stimulation with minimal recovery.

Morpheus8 combines microneedles with radiofrequency energy to create controlled fractional coagulation at selected tissue depths.

Morpheus8 may be more appropriate when the primary target is: Skin Laxity • Acne Scars • More Significant Texture Changes • Tissue Remodelling

ClearSilk® may be considered when the goal is: Diffuse Redness • Mild Texture Changes • Radiance • Gradual Skin Revitalisation • Minimal Downtime

What Does ClearSilk® Feel Like?

ClearSilk® is designed as a comfortable non-contact treatment.

Patients typically experience gradual warmth as the treatment area is heated.

Because the surface of the skin is not intentionally removed, topical anaesthesia is generally not required.

Individual sensitivity varies according to treatment area, skin condition and treatment parameters.

ClearSilk® Aftercare

Following treatment, patients should use gentle skincare and appropriate sun protection.

Depending on skin sensitivity, patients may be advised to temporarily avoid: Excessive Heat • Sauna • Steam Rooms • Aggressive Exfoliation • Strong Acids • Retinoids

When Will I See ClearSilk® Results?

There is no universal number of ClearSilk® treatments suitable for every patient.

When ClearSilk® May Not Be the Right Treatment

ClearSilk® is not intended to solve every skin concern.
