How Does ClearSilk® Work?
- 01
1064 nm Nd:YAG LASER

ClearSilk® delivers controlled 1064 nm laser energy.
- 02
NON-CONTACT DELIVERY

The handpiece remains above the skin while laser energy is delivered to the treatment area.
- 03
CONTROLLED DERMAL HEATING

Energy creates gradual, controlled heating beneath the skin surface.
- 04
THERMAL RESPONSE

The controlled heat stimulates a biological tissue response, including fibroblast activity.
- 05
GRADUAL SKIN REVITALISATION

With a course of treatments, the aim is gradual improvement in redness, texture, fine lines and overall skin appearance.
ClearSilk® also incorporates real-time temperature sensing to help monitor skin temperature during treatment.
Benefits of ClearSilk®
- Non-Ablative TreatmentClearSilk® works without intentionally removing the skin surface.
- Minimal to No DowntimePatients can generally return to normal activities immediately following treatment.

Read more about ClearSilk®
ClearSilk® by Sciton is a gentle 1064 nm Nd:YAG non-ablative laser treatment designed to improve diffuse redness, uneven texture, dullness and overall skin quality with minimal to no downtime.
Unlike ablative resurfacing treatments, ClearSilk® does not remove the surface of the skin. The laser delivers controlled heat beneath the skin while the handpiece remains non-contact.
At Pearl Skin Polyclinic in Dubai, ClearSilk® can be used as an individual treatment or incorporated into personalised protocols alongside BBL HEROic™, ClearV® and other technologies when clinically appropriate.
The goal is gradual skin revitalisation without aggressive resurfacing or significant recovery time.

What Is ClearSilk®?
ClearSilk® is a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser treatment by Sciton.
It is non-ablative, meaning that it works without intentionally removing the epidermal surface.
It is also non-contact: the handpiece is positioned above the skin rather than being used to mechanically penetrate or resurface it.
During treatment, laser energy produces controlled heating beneath the surface of the skin.
Sciton describes this thermal effect as stimulating fibroblast activity and the body's natural repair response, contributing to gradual improvement in texture, fine lines and overall skin appearance.
ClearSilk® for Redness & Rosacea
This is one of the areas where ClearSilk® is particularly useful.
Persistent redness can make otherwise healthy skin appear irritated, uneven or inflamed.
ClearSilk® can be used for concerns including: Diffuse Redness • Flushing • Blushing • Selected Rosacea-Related Redness
However, redness itself is not a diagnosis.
Rosacea can involve inflammatory, vascular and other components.
If clearly visible or deeper vessels are the primary concern, a more targeted vascular technology such as ClearV® may be more appropriate.
This is why at Pearl Skin we distinguish between:
Diffuse redness → ClearSilk® may be considered
More defined vascular targets → ClearV® or another vascular protocol may be more appropriate
ClearSilk® for Dull Skin & Skin Quality
Not every patient asking for “glow” needs exfoliation or an aggressive resurfacing procedure.
Dull-looking skin can be associated with several factors, including uneven texture, redness, dehydration, photodamage and age-related changes.
ClearSilk® provides a non-ablative option for patients who want gradual skin revitalisation without significant surface injury.
The treatment is often referred to as a “lunchtime” procedure because it can generally be completed quickly and does not require the recovery associated with ablative resurfacing.
ClearSilk® for Acne-Prone Skin
ClearSilk® may also be incorporated into selected acne protocols.
But acne is a chronic inflammatory condition, and no laser should automatically replace proper acne diagnosis and medical management.
Before treatment we assess: Inflammatory Lesions • Comedones • Redness • Pigmentation • Existing Scars • Current Skincare • Previous Treatment • Medication
For some patients, ClearSilk® may be useful when redness, inflammation and overall skin quality are part of the concern.
For others, an acne-specific protocol such as Forever Clear BBL® may be more appropriate.
We select the technology according to the type and stage of acne.
What Happens During Your ClearSilk® Treatment?
Consultation & Skin Assessment
We evaluate redness, vascularity, texture, acne activity, pigmentation, skin phototype and treatment goals. This helps determine whether ClearSilk® is appropriate or whether another technology would better match the concern.
Skin Preparation
The skin is cleansed and prepared for treatment. Appropriate eye protection is provided.
Non-Contact Laser Treatment
The ClearSilk® handpiece remains above the skin while controlled 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser energy is delivered across the treatment area.
Controlled Heating
The skin is gradually heated while temperature is monitored during treatment. Patients typically experience progressive warmth rather than an ablative or resurfacing sensation.
Post-Treatment Care
The skin is reassessed and personalised skincare and photoprotection recommendations are provided.
Assess → Prepare → Heat → Monitor → Recover
ClearSilk® for Post-Acne Redness
After inflammatory acne resolves, some patients are left with persistent red or pink marks.
These changes are different from active acne, brown post-inflammatory pigmentation and established acne scars.
ClearSilk® may be incorporated into selected treatment programmes when post-acne redness and overall skin qualityare important concerns.
However, mixed post-acne changes may require different technologies for: Redness • Pigmentation • Texture • Atrophic Acne Scars
Correct classification helps determine the appropriate treatment.
ClearSilk® for Fine Lines & Texture
Fine surface lines and uneven texture can contribute to an overall tired or less-refined skin appearance.
Controlled non-ablative heating may support gradual improvement in overall skin quality and texture.
ClearSilk® does not provide the same degree of tissue remodelling as fractional RF microneedling or ablative resurfacing.
For deeper wrinkles, significant laxity or established scars, another treatment may be more appropriate.
ClearSilk® for Neck & Décolleté

The neck and décolleté may develop: Diffuse Redness • Uneven Texture • Dullness • Fine Lines • Signs of Photodamage
ClearSilk® can be extended beyond the face when a non-ablative 1064 nm treatment corresponds to the patient's concern.
Treatment parameters are selected according to the anatomical area, skin condition and clinical objective.
ClearSilk® for the Body

ClearSilk® may also be used on selected body areas including: Arms • Abdomen • Legs
The indication should be established before treatment.
A body area should not be treated simply because ClearSilk® can technically be used there.
Treatment is selected according to the concern — not only the anatomical area.
ClearSilk® vs ClearV®
ClearSilk® and ClearV® both use 1064 nm Nd:YAG technology, but they are designed for different treatment strategies.
ClearSilk® uses non-contact controlled heating and may be selected for diffuse redness, skin quality and gradual revitalisation.
ClearV® is designed for targeted treatment of selected visible and subsurface vessels and incorporates Subsurface Vein Illumination (SVI™).
A patient with widespread facial redness may therefore require a different approach from someone with one defined blue or purple vessel.
Diffuse redness → ClearSilk® may be considered.
Defined vascular target → ClearV® may be more appropriate.
ClearSilk® vs BBL HEROic™
ClearSilk® and BBL HEROic™ are both non-ablative technologies, but they use different forms of energy.
ClearSilk® uses a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser to produce controlled thermal effects beneath the skin.
BBL HEROic™ uses filtered BroadBand Light™ to target selected chromophores such as melanin and haemoglobin.
BBL HEROic™ may therefore be particularly useful when superficial pigmentation, sun spots or selected vascular targets are present.
ClearSilk® may be selected when diffuse redness and gradual skin revitalisation are the main goals.
Some patients may benefit from both technologies within a staged treatment programme.
ClearSilk® vs Morpheus8
ClearSilk® and Morpheus8 address skin quality through very different mechanisms.
ClearSilk® is a non-contact, non-ablative 1064 nm laser treatment designed for gradual thermal stimulation with minimal recovery.
Morpheus8 combines microneedles with radiofrequency energy to create controlled fractional coagulation at selected tissue depths.
Morpheus8 may be more appropriate when the primary target is: Skin Laxity • Acne Scars • More Significant Texture Changes • Tissue Remodelling
ClearSilk® may be considered when the goal is: Diffuse Redness • Mild Texture Changes • Radiance • Gradual Skin Revitalisation • Minimal Downtime
Who Is ClearSilk® For?
ClearSilk® may be considered for selected patients concerned about:
- Diffuse Facial Rednesswidespread redness rather than one isolated vessel.
- Flushing & Blushingselected vascular-reactive skin concerns following assessment.
- Rosacea-Related Rednesswhen a non-ablative laser approach corresponds to the clinical presentation.
- Dull Skin & Loss of Radiancefor patients looking for gradual skin revitalisation.
- Uneven Skin Textureselected mild textural concerns.
- Fine Linesas part of an overall skin-quality treatment strategy.
- Acne-Prone Skinwhen redness, inflammation or skin quality are relevant treatment targets.
- Post-Acne Rednessselected residual vascular redness following inflammatory acne.
- Photodamage & Uneven Skin Tonewhen ClearSilk® corresponds to the individual treatment objective.
What Does ClearSilk® Feel Like?
ClearSilk® is designed as a comfortable non-contact treatment.
Patients typically experience gradual warmth as the treatment area is heated.
Because the surface of the skin is not intentionally removed, topical anaesthesia is generally not required.
Individual sensitivity varies according to treatment area, skin condition and treatment parameters.
ClearSilk® Recovery & Downtime
- Immediately After
- Temporary reactions may include: Mild Redness • Warmth • Temporary Flushing • Mild Skin Sensitivity
- Following Hours
- These reactions generally settle progressively.
- Most patients can return to their usual daily activities relatively quickly.
- The exact recovery pattern varies according to skin sensitivity, treatment area and individual response.
ClearSilk® is designed to require minimal to no downtime for many patients.
ClearSilk® Aftercare
Following treatment, patients should use gentle skincare and appropriate sun protection.
Depending on skin sensitivity, patients may be advised to temporarily avoid: Excessive Heat • Sauna • Steam Rooms • Aggressive Exfoliation • Strong Acids • Retinoids
Patients should follow the specific skincare recommendations provided by their practitioner.
When Will I See ClearSilk® Results?
ClearSilk® is designed as a progressive treatment rather than aggressive single-session resurfacing.
Some patients may notice that the skin appears fresher following treatment.
Changes in redness, texture, fine lines and overall skin quality are generally assessed progressively across the treatment course.
The timing and degree of improvement vary according to the concern and individual response.
The objective is gradual skin revitalisation rather than an immediate dramatic transformation.
How Many ClearSilk® Sessions Will I Need?
There is no universal number of ClearSilk® treatments suitable for every patient.
The recommended treatment course depends on: Primary Concern • Severity • Treatment Area • Skin Phototype • Other Treatments • Individual Response
Because ClearSilk® is designed as a buildable treatment, a series of sessions may be recommended.
Maintenance treatment may also be considered according to skin condition and individual goals.
ClearSilk® Combination Treatments
ClearSilk® may be incorporated into a broader personalised skin-treatment programme.
Depending on the patient's concerns, this may include selected combinations with: BBL HEROic™ • ClearV® • HELEO4™ • Morpheus8 • Injectable Treatments • Professional Skin Treatments
The technologies are not interchangeable.
Each is selected according to the biological or structural target being treated.
Treatment sequence and timing are planned individually.
When ClearSilk® May Not Be the Right Treatment
ClearSilk® is not intended to solve every skin concern.
A different technology may be more appropriate when the primary problem is: Defined or Deeper Vascular Lesions • Significant Pigmentation • Deep Acne Scars • Significant Skin Laxity • Facial Volume Loss • Severe Active Acne • Suspicious Pigmented Lesions
For example, a defined vascular target may be better suited to ClearV®, while significant acne scarring may require a tissue-remodelling treatment such as Morpheus8.
Correct treatment begins with identifying the dominant problem.
ClearSilk® Consultation in Dubai
At Pearl Skin Polyclinic in Dubai, ClearSilk® treatment begins with identifying what is causing the visible redness or change in skin quality.
We assess vascularity, redness pattern, texture, acne activity, pigmentation, skin phototype and treatment goals.
If diffuse redness and gradual skin revitalisation are the main targets, ClearSilk® may be considered.
If a defined vessel, significant pigmentation or deeper textural concern is present, another technology may be more appropriate.
The goal is gradual, personalised skin revitalisation with the technology selected according to the clinical target.
